 • Series: The Gospel in Romans

Part 12 in the sermon series "The Gospel in Romans | the power of God for salvation" 1. Read Romans 1:18-25. Consider reading further to the end of the chapter. ‌ 2. Who is the second half of Romans 1 talking about? Are these Jews or Gentiles? What do these people know about God and how do they know it? How are we similar or dissimilar to these people? ‌ 3. What does the wrath of God refer to? How is the wrath of God revealed? ‌ 4. Why is mankind without excuse? ‌ 5. How do these people become fools? Which came first, their foolishness or their behavior? ‌ 6. How are we similar or dissimilar to the foolishness of these people? ‌ 7. At the end of the sermon, Jeremiah said, “The world has seen enough of self-righteous religious types who are going to fix the culture by demanding adherence to arbitrary portions of various biblical laws. What the world has seen so little of is a tiny church in the middle of Brevard County whose very lives are shaped by their confession that there is One God. Not our comfort or our affluence or our families or our careers. A people whose singular hope and glory is the Lord alone. And a people whose singular joy is to give thanks to the Lord—to live lives together tasting and seeing that Lord is good.” How can we take practical steps together to this end in our household, our CG and our congregation?
