Part 1 of the BibleTogether | History of Redemption Sermon Series Community Group Questions: 1. A. W. Tozer says, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” What are some things that come to your mind after reading Genesis 1:1? 2. We experience so much of our life through our five senses. And yet, there are many things about reality that we cannot see, hear, smell, taste or touch. For instance, no human was there when the heavens and earth were made. And yet, because of revelation, we can know God because he has made himself known both in scripture and in the person and work of Jesus (Colossians 1:15,19-20). How does the fact that we can know God our Maker effect how we live our lives as humans? 3. There is a hard distinction made in the very first verse in the Bible. In the beginning there was only God. Everything else was made by him. This is the creature/Creator distinction. What are some distinctions between the Creator and humanity and why are these distinctions important? 4. On Sunday, Jeremiah mentioned four implications of being caught up in the story of God. Read through these four implications and consider which of these you most resonate with and why. The story of God lifts our story out of the mundane and inconsequential. The story of God lifts our story out of fear and anxiety. The story of God lifts our story out of self-importance. The story of God lifts our story out of idolatry.
