Leviticus 23:5; Exodus 12:1–13 | Passover
• Series: The Feasts of the Lord
Part 6 of 8 in the summer sermon series, "The Feasts of the Lord" 1. Consider Exodus 12:1–13. Share together how the people were to survive the first Passover. 2. On Sunday, Jeremiah shared these definitions of expiation and propitiation. Expiation (out of) is the taking away of guilt or covering. Propitiation (for) indicates that because the guilt is covered and the judgment has been executed, the wrath is turned away, and the relationship is restored. How do you see these two ideas in the Passover? 3. How does Jesus show himself to be the Passover lamb? How does the work of his gospel secure for all who believe in the hope of expiation and propitiation?
