Leviticus 16:2 says that Aaron should never come before the Lord. Then in the next verse it says that Aaron should come “in this way.” What changed betwen verse 2 and 3? 2. What does the Day of Atonement accomplish for the people? 3. Read the following passages from Hebrews 9:11–14, 23–28, 10:19–22. How does Hebrews interpret the Day of Atonement? 4. How does the reality of Jesus’ final atonement directly impact particular aspects of our lives? For instance, how does the severity of sacrifice warn you against sin and how does the sufficiency of Christ’s sacrifice call you into faith-filled obedience that flees from sin?
